About

Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try. – Gail Devers

My Goals:

  • I will run across the United States beginning my journey on April 16th 2014. (San Francisco to NYC)
  • I will run self supported pushing a modified jogging stroller full of camping gear and supplies.
  • I will raise funds and awareness for The Brain Injury Association. http://biausa.donorpages.com/ForwardMotion/
  • I will achieve these things on a plant based diet.
  • I will have a crazy, challenging, epic adventure.

Please follow my adventure and stay tuned for a live tracking map once I start running! The map below provides a general idea of the route but is subject to changes.

Good luck. Lorna Michael did it in 64 days in 1993. http://www.usacrossers.com

    • Yes, thanks. I know. I am also trying to exceed the unofficial record. Sometimes I wonder if I should just do an unofficial record to get around some of the rules & stipulations set out by Guinness. Complicated topic I guess. 🙂

      • John Price says:

You know I support your efforts and wish you the best but I must say that Guinness is no Official Record keeper of any kind. They are a self appointed as a way of publicity for themselves. So long story short is I believe Lorna’s record is every bit of valid as Mavis’s! 😉

    • Thank you so much!! I will actually be taking a more Northern route but supporting my fellow transs-continental runners is the same as supporting me! 🙂 What a wonderful person you are.

Good luck and happy trails to you. Can’t wait to see you in NYC….

  8. Jessica, enjoy the run. I did it in 2011. Stop, and do some very slow 360s and soak up the experience to tuck away for the future.

  9. Inspiring. I’ll be cheering you on through the GPS. You can do it!
Come get some Rolfing when you are done! It’s on me.

  10. Christine L Meyer says:

Good luck Jessica! My husband suffered traumatic brain injuries in Afghanistan, so what you are doing to raise money and awareness hits home with me. Thank you, stay strong, and know you are supported!
    Take care! Chris Libby Meyer
